The man of nature and the nature of the man

Friday, 13th. Darwin, the man of nature, would be happy to be able to blow out, today, here, 200 candles lit up in honour of his anniversary and in front of scientists worldwide, who have come to pay him tribute. But he can’t. The nature of man does not allow us to live more than one hundred and so years, even though this could soon change.

Galápagos.Travel diari

The ecosystem of the Galapagos is extremely fragile and subject to the worst environmental hazards generated by our civilization from invasive species, to rising sea levels, through the oil slicks. To spoil this heritage would not only be a huge scientific loss for scientists, but also a worrying signal regarding the sanity of the human species.
